Funky Dance First Lesson

Initially I planned to join Dragon Boat racing practice today, however, it was cancelled because today is too windy. As leader is in Bangkok now, so, I joined the first class of Funky Dance by myself. The coach was late for half an hour, it is good for me because I don't need to dance too much. I like it because I like sweating, I always rate the effectiveness of a sport in term of the level of sweating.
We just stand there and wait for our coach........

Funky Dance

Highly recommended by FarFar, I joined a free trial class with leader tonite. The venue is in QRE, just one minutes walk from my place. It's awesome, isn't it? I join the class because I need to do some sports, at least need to sweat a little bit regularly. Of course, it's better if I can trim down some fat :)

In respect of work, I lost my second client due to too competitive fee bidding in the market. Not sure it's good or bad, hope I can get some clean clients very soon. Otherwise, feel very boring and unproductive at work.

I am asked by HR to write an interview article regarding my sabbatical leave and share with the U students (HK and PRC), some marketing tools.

Lancome Preview Dinner

Thanks JK for inviting me to dine at Four Seasons Hotel organised by Lancome. It's fun, I like this special event!

From business point of view, I don't think it is a cost effective marketing event. It costs a lot, fine dinner, souvenir, perfume, magic show and using celebrities as MC. On the other hand, no products were sold at the spot to make money. Besides, I don't think Blanc Expert White and Oscillation Mascara are so great that worth investing a lot on marketing.

Alma Mater

Main Entrance - always the best view of SMCC

Justina - Chair of Past Student Alumni (PSA). I like her, you can feel her passion and energy. It's funny that she is a bit look like Ah So.

A lot of people joining this Mentor Programme. I am allocated to Finance and Banking Group. We will organise two events by July (20 mentors vs 21 mentees), hope it won't turn out that no one is following up anyway.

I join this programme because I think it is a good opportunity to stay connecting with high school and have chance going back to school.

Extra-curricular activities

Suddenly got a list of extracurricular activities to do in this week, a bit worry that I lit up too many fire around me. SE volunteer, OBAHK Alumni, Mentoring Programme, Management Development and Vineyard cell group. Need to talk to the boss about MD workshop/retreat tomorrow morning, it is quite funny and exciting to join this stuff actually. Let's see how the story of a change agent (me!) will be.

The most fruitful thing is to find a cell group in KPMG accidentally. I participated in my firm's women focus group yesterday and chatted with a christian colleague, she introduced me to a cell group in PB. Hope I can make close christian friends there.

Hins Cheung Concert

It is a very great concert because there are too many guests from Taiwan. As it is free, can't set too high expectation. The best thing is I can reach home in 15 mins on foot after the concert, so cool!!

Tragedy

It's such a bad time that three of my friends lost their father over the past two weeks. It is a stage of life cycle that my friends and I will face soon. When I heard about these news, it always remind me that I don't need to be afraid of losing anything, nothing is more important than relatives. Thanks God for giving me a complete family, I should appreciate that I am so blessed even my mum is sick.

OBA HK Dean Visit

It is the first event organised by our newly formed committee member. We were notified shortly that Dean Colin Mayer is visiting Asia. It was difficult to find a proper venue at Friday night. Besides, we don't have a comprehensive member list from OBA database. Fortunately, we have 30 people joining, quite encouraging. The only bad thing is Dean spoke too long (about Asia crisis) that made us have the dinner very lately. Some people couldn't wait and left early.

CM Chan, Elizabeth, Lora, Dean, Betty, Mona, Sigismund and I.
I think our bonding get stronger after organising he event.

Feeling great to meet old classmate!! Edward Harner

Marathon

Woke up at 4:30am and went to Victoria Park at 5am.

My batch started at 6am, it is nice to run in earlier batch, otherwise, it would be hot when the sun rises.
A nice route, keep running on the highway. It is good to see the U-turn here, already 4km.
I finished 10km at 1 hour 23 mins, not bad, leave some room for improvement in next year. Don't like the KPMG T, too small......
Dept 9 colleagues
Group 1 colleague. We have more than 200 people (we couldn't use the word 'staff' because we are Employer of Choice :) ) joining the run, representing 10% of the whole firm.

Visit Darren

Son of my high school friend, Flora.

New Apartment

Have moved to Wanchai new apartment for one week, life is good there. The best thing is I only take 10 minutes to get to office by tram, so cool!!! The bad thing is no internet and TV yet, so, I spent most of my time listening to radio. Light pollution is quite seriously, I think I need to put on one more layer of curtain to shield the light, otherwise, I can't sleep well.

I am at my parent's place at weekend now, really feel like HOME, very relaxing. Seems that the Wanchai place is my hostel only. haha
